Still the best Russian Bible app available, multi-tasking now added. Still 5 stars. &&&&&&&&&&& As others noted, lack of multitasking is annoying, but overall this is an excellent app. It has features that many apps that cost much more dont have. Five star for sure. Update to last review after using the app for more than a year. This is still by far the best app out there, and still deserves five stars. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&& I really like the way this is organized and the way the reader reads the text. This is really good app. Update: Ive been using this for many months now, and am even more impressed with it. It has some useful features that most Bible apps dont have like being able to choose whether you want to continue reading a single chapter, continue indefinitely to the next chapters, or finish the reading at the end of the current chapter. Deserves 5 stars.

I love it! So awesome now I can hear and read bible at the same time I love it! would of been better If you could have the audio to read certain verses...

Previously had trouble opening the app, but the 30 JUN 2010 update fixed the problem. Thanks--great app!

I tried to close it so I can listen and yet still txt or check other things but its not multitask compatible??? 4.0 software does multitasking but not all apps are capable yet?

This is excellent. I like the way the reader sometimes substitutes really old Russian words for modern day words as hes reading. His reading is clear and he varies the way he introduces the various books and chapters.

I like this app an i use it every day in Chorch also but i like To see The books name larger font OR On Full screen And Its loading long time Has no background To it like To swich From notes To bible Fast thanks for app

Really good and comfortable Bible app to use. However could you please make it possible to listen to it when you leave to the home screen so it keeps working in the multitasking. If you add this then that would be great!

When I drive I like to listen, good job on reading but I dont like how you miss versus and put your words in the bible.

If you try and follow him reading, you will quickly realize that he omits words and whole verses. Total waste of money

This is not a perfect app but, so far its one of the best, I love that it reads to you. Please fix "псалтырь" its irritating to see one thing and hear another… also if its possible please fix where he adds his own words, instead of reading the bible… over all not a bad app and better than the rest of then because you have a choice of it reading to you… needs to be updated and really NEEDS some bug fixes… thanks for a great up! Please update!

The person whos reading the bible is actually reading it from a different source, thats why some of the words are missing or changed a little. But if you bought this app to listen to the bible and live the way it says; its not a waist of money because the message will be delivered to you correctly no matter what. Complaining is easy but to live the right way is hard. Хороший голос у человека, приятный и мягкий. Слушайте все, но не забывайте читать Библию держа её в руках.

(June 2014: Three years later I am updating my review for the third time… This app simply is not being maintained. It is still the old size. All of the below comments are still true.) I use this app almost every day, and am glad it exists, though its not perfect. I got this because of the audio part of the program. I was hoping that you could start the audio at any given verse, but that is not how it works... you can start it at the beginning of a chapter or drag the bar along to skip through the chapter, but you cannot control it reliably to (for example) read only 2 verses in a particular chapter. This would be a very nice feature to add and make it much more useful for those of us buying it strictly for knowing how to read a particular verse with correct accents and intonations. (Updating my review a year later: the PalReader people updated the program to allow for this capability, but the Russian counterpart has not linked the audio files to verses to utilize it.) It is a real voice that reads to you (occasionally you can hear him clear his throat) and the man gives a good reading of the Russian Bible - neither flat nor overly exaggerated. The man reading must be using a very slightly different version of the Synodal Translation because he always uses the forms of "это" instead of "сей". I have noticed a few other minor grammatical and occasional word differences between the audio and written text, but nothing that is bothersome enough not to use it. He adds his own opinion, occasionally, at the beginning of a book or chapter (usually before big lists of names). He also occasionally simply does not read a big list of names. I personally do not like this... again, I bought it to verify pronunciation and accents. After Psalms "10", the Psalms are not matched with the correct audio files. The man reading is following the Russian chapter numbering and the written text is following the English Psalms numbering. You must read the Psalms with a regular Bible copy if you want to combine visual and audio. (March 2011) Almost a year later I am updating my comment... It seems that the PalApp Reader program is maintained separately from the people who add content, so this should almost be 2 separate reviews... but the reader program itself doesnt look or operate as smoothly as other reader programs. They did recently add a couple features, and fix a cosmetic bug. Ive figured out how to make it work for me, and Im sure you can too!

I purchase this app to be listening rather then reading the Bible. I like the way it is read. What I didnt like at all is that the reader skips some verses he prefers not to read. For example list of names or the part when king David saw Versavia from his window and fell into sin. The reader also put his comment why he was skipping those verses. Sometimes he clears his throat or gets emotional. I think that the Bible should be read just the way its written without readers opinions unless the app is bible with explanation or comments. This app needs to be improved to more professional level.
